Castings We produce castings in a wide range of alloys for a diverse and demanding customer base. Our castings are regularly destined for the aerospace, MOD and top-level motor sport industries that require our proven consistent dimensional stability (within +/- 0.3mm) together with a superfine cast surface finish measured at 2RA. The installation of two new manufacturing cells provides the flexibility to produce castings from 0.25kgs to 450 kgs. The recently commissioned moulding plant also offers flexibility to our customers in terms of increased output and the ability to concentrate on individual castings through our fast track moulding system. When complex shapes or high volumes are required we utilize our coreblowing plant that produces sand pieces of upto 45 kgs.. Exacting repeatable quality castings are ensured through our skilled and experienced workforce, rotary degassing units (eliminating pinhole gas porosity) and multiple stage inspection processes. Super Fine Finish - The foundation of our superior quality castings starts with the finest 95-grade sand bonded with an air-cured resin. This produces a stable and robust mould enabling high definition, thin wall castings with tolerances only normally associated with permanent die production. Our resin sand process provides an economical means of producing accurate complex castings consistent with die-casting. This process can therefore be used for product evaluation prior to mass production in permanent dies or as a real production alternative to pressure or gravity die - especially when tooling costs are considered.
